Wedding venues are usually a wonderful place to start - especially historic homes. Kuruc-a-ruc Homestead is full of history. Set on 1500 acres of farmland, you will experience a journey through time as you step into the beautifully restored 1840s country farmhouse, Kuruc-a-ruc.

Located on a working farm, Kuruc-a-Ruc provides the perfect blend of historic country charm and modern comforts, making it an ideal setting for a memorable wedding celebration.

Whether you envision an intimate gathering or lavish occasion, we have some unique and stunning location choices around our farm for your actual nuptial ceremony and photographs, not to mention the reception. 

For an additional cost, the Homestead is also available to accommodate 16 members of the bridal party or family. With five spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms, Kuruc-a-Ruc provides ample comfort for all guests.  Explore further down for Accomodation Options.


Located five minutes outside the Warrnambool township and just two hours from Geelong, you will never tire from the amazing views offered from every room of the home.
Set on 28 acres of exclusive ocean frontage and the breeding grounds of the Southern Right Whale, Warrnambool, this private oasis is the perfect location for any type of wedding or retreat.

This luxurious destination offers an array of spacious living, formal and informal dining options and unique outdoor entertaining areas achieving wonderful indoor/outdoor living including a beautiful alfresco area designed for year-round Southern Ocean entertaining.

Our designated marquee site is located just outside the Homestead garden, right in front of the charming old stables. It offers a beautiful setting and is only a short stroll from the front of the Homestead, where you may wish to start your reception with pre-dinner drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

For an additional cost, the Homestead is available to accommodate up to 16 members of the bridal party or family. With five spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms, Kuruc-a-Ruc offers plenty of room and comfort for all your guests. 

Additionally, wedding guests can choose to stay in stylish glamping tents, adding a unique touch to their experience.

Spend your first night as newlyweds in one of the master suites at Kuruc-a-Ruc Homestead, providing a private and peaceful honeymoon retreat.

For Micro Weddings ONLY

The day after your wedding, we invite you to unwind and relax, allowing you to decompress from the excitement of your special day. It’s a wonderful chance to enjoy quality time with your friends and family. You can gather on the lawn for a shared meal and drinks in a laid-back setting.

The estate will be available for you until 3pm. 
All guests and the wedding party are required to depart by 3pm.

Why not add on a Recovery Day?

Does Kuruc-a-ruc have a curfew?
Yes, we have a noise curfew of 12:30am. 
Guests should leave within 30 minutes after the reception ends, by 1:00am at the latest.

Are dogs allowed for the ceremony?
Absolutely! We love dogs. As long as they are on a lead, you’re welcome to have your dog present for the ceremony and photos.

Can we bring our own drinks for the wedding?
Yes, you can bring your own drinks. However, you must hire staff with RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification to serve them. Guests are not permitted to bring their own drinks.

Do we need to hire toilets, or can we use the homestead bathrooms?
Access to the homestead is restricted to 
the bridal party only. For events, we provide up to two toilets per 100 guests. Additional toilets will be charged at an extra cost.

frequently asked questions

Do we need to hire a generator?
A generator is included in the venue hire fee.

How should we transport our guests to and from kuruc-a-ruc?
The easiest option is to arrange buses for transportation to and from Geelong (or Ballarat). we have reached out to several private companies and can provide you with their details.

Do we need to handle the clean-up after the wedding?
Yes, you are responsible for leaving the venue clean and tidy. To minimise the clean-up, coordinate with your caterer and staff to manage cleanup tasks until their departure.

Can guests bring their own tents or caravans?
No, we do not allow tents or caravans. Only those staying in the homestead or IN booked glamping sites may stay on-site. Nearby Inverleigh has two free campsites and air bnb for guests. Ballarat is also close by.

Do we need a security guard?
Yes, a security guard is required for all events and is included in the venue hire fee for 5 hours. They must stay until the event concludes. 

While not needed during the ceremony or canapés, a security guard must be present once the reception begins. Extra hours or additional security guards can be arranged at your expense.

Can guests leave cars in the parking lot overnight?
Yes, cars may remain in the parking lot overnight but must be collected by 11:00am the following day or 3pm if you have booked a recovery day (extra cost).

If we don’t book accommodation, can we access the homestead?
yes we have a get ready with me package. only the bridal party is allowed and it is an extra cost.

Is there a Security BOND?
yes there is, it is $5000.

How do we secure a date at kuruc-a-ruc for our wedding?
To secure a date, a $2,500 deposit is required. The remaining balance can be paid in monthly instalments or in three lump sums: 12 months, 6 months, and 3 months before the wedding.

Can we pay with a credit card?
Yes, we accept credit card payments with an additional fee of 2%.

What IS the cancellation or rescheduling policies?
we cannot refund any amounts paid in the event of cancellation. we offer rescheduling requests if it is minimum 12 months notice from your previous booked date.

If Kuruc-a-Ruc Homestead cancels the
event due to unforeseen circumstances, the Client will receive a full refund of all payments made.
